Beverly Center - Miracle Mile
The Beverly Center - Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles, known for its original Spanish two-story homes, original duplexes and single-family homes, runs down down Wilshire Blvd. between Fairfax Avenue and La Brea Blvd. Originally established in the 1920s by developer A.W. Ross, who sought to create a commercial district that could rival spots like Downtown Los Angeles, this 1.5 mile stretch is indeed home to retail, business centers, luxury high-rises and museums as well as just minutes from The Grove and its Farmers Market. Neighborhoods within the Beverly Center - Miracle Mile area include: Beverly Grove, Fairfax Village or Fairfax District, The Melrose District, and Carthay, which is further divided into Carthay Circle, Carthay Square, and South Carthay. Though many original homes survive, the central location of this neighborhood is creating a flood of new, more opulent homes.
